Trail Talk was born in February of 2021 as a way to share information about area trails with Killingworth residents via our monthly Chamber of Commerce newsletter, the Killingworth Krier.

The seeds of this column were planted in the fall of 2020. The Krier editor, knowing I did a lot of hiking, asked me to write a last minute article about some of my favorite local trails. We were still deep in the throes of the Covid-19 pandemic, and we viewed this as a way to inspire folks to get outside for both exercise and mental health. When the editor approached me two months later to write a follow-up piece I suggested a monthly column instead.  This would allow me to plan ahead, choose different themes and include more in-depth information.

Now, over two years later, the Killingworth Krier published its final edition in June of 2023. Not ready to give up Trail Talk, I have started a blog so that I can continue to share my explorations. I welcome your feedback and ideas for future blog posts. Please join me on my journey!
